Trail near Barrel Springs
San Ysidro camp
Up at 5:30, headed up in elevation again. We were totally amazed at the water cache by the 3rd pipe gate. Gallons and gallons of fresh water stocked by volunteers. It is an incredible feat to get the water here, it is carried many miles. Wow, I am very grateful. We took a break at the cache, filled our water containers (we need to carry a minimum of 3-4 liters every day -- and water is heavy I've found out). We struck out for our next water, Barrel Springs. We caught up with several folks we have crossed trails with recently and took a long break before heading on to San Ysidro Creek. The water was flowing, more of a trickle than a stream, but it was enough to let me soak my feet which are incredibly dirty. Campsite was great -- put my tent up beneath a sycamore, a nice change from the chapparal.
