Thurs-20+ miles

After a short day yesterday I was ready to get some miles in. It was an up and down day, but nothing too high or too low.
This was the day to pass the 500 mile mark!
When I started looking for a camp site I reviewed the guide book pages. At mile 508 it promised dropping into a Coulter Pine forest with good camping. Wouldn't you know since thelast publication this nice forest has sufered a fire and trees are decimated, donw, blak and chopped up. I kept going. Atop a grassy ridge there were some lovely oaks standing. Thoug a bit unsure of the wind on a ridge it didn't seem breezey so I chose the biggest oak to camp under. The ground was soft and riddled with ground squirrel holes and tunnels. It made a lovely campsite.
Trekking on,
Circle
