Happy Birthday Steve!

The first of many future PCT GPS signals was sent from Steve at the Mexican border today- see attached. Looks like Steve got started around 8:00 a.m. this morning.

Here's a message from Steve from his guestbook, in case you missed it:

"Well, everybody, thanks for coming by to check out the journal. Despite the overall lack of confidence in my navigational skills, I purposely went to Point Reyes National Seashore after landing in San Francisco. Toby and I have had an amazing week seeing the seashore and friends along the way. Tomorrow Toby will drop me at the trailhead around 7AM Pacific time, so this is it! I definitely appreciate the kind notes both here and in my email, and Paul, keep up the good work. I'll be checking in every week or so."

Happy 30th birthday Steve! We're all so proud of you attempting this journey. Be safe and have a fantastic adventure!

Addendum: Here are 2 more GPS locations from today. Steve has made it to Morena at 4:15 p.m. and is planning on going another 5 miles today. I'm not sure where that puts him, but here are his next 2 locations from today (I don't believe this website allows you to input more than 1 lat/long per day):,-116.524&ie=UTF8&z=12&om=1,-116.518&ie=UTF8&z=12&om=1
