Big Lake Youth Camp

Steve arrived at the Youth Camp around 3:00 p.m. yesterday and gave me a call. He said the snow hasn't been a problem so far, but the real question is whether there will be a lot of snow north of the Camp. My resupply package was waiting for him. I've got to rush out and send him another one today- I've gotten behind on these packages.

Did I mention that Steve's appetite has become voracious over this hike? I weigh 40 pounds more than he does and he was eating at least twice as much as me when I was hiking with him. And he's still lost a lot of weight. Steve talked a lot about starting a serious fitness program when he gets home so that he maintains his aerobic base but also adds some muscle.

Steve was talking about potentially hitching into Sisters yesterday to get a motel room and get cleaned up, but I think he decided against that by the looks of his GPS signal. Steve said that the Youth Camp reminded him of a summer camp that he and I used to go to when we were younger.
