40 Mile Day
Steve set a new personal record by covering 40.5 miles yesterday! That's farther than I can hike in two days.
I spoke with Steve briefly yesterday. He wants to get to the Timberline Lodge before 5:30 p.m. today in order to pick up a resupply package. I offered to look into getting a room for him there, but he said it would be too expensive. However, that was before he learned that the Lodge serves an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet, so I think he may reconsider (or perhaps he'll camp outside the Lodge). I checked the Timberline Lodge website, and rooms are on the expensive side.
Steve camped last night with a big group of his friends: Disco, P.O.D., 'Bido, San Gabriel, and Forest. He said his shin splints seem to be coming back. Canada is calling!
