In Skykomish, WA
Ok, started July 21st from Manning Park, Canada. Had some dehydration along with altitude adjustment issues for the first 40 miles in the Cascades, but I've been taking my time and am now adjusted (I finally got my trail legs!!!). So all is well- I'm staying with some incredible people at the Dinsmore's place who are Skykomish 'trail angels' and have refreshed my perspectives (Jerry and Andrea are very warm, beautiful spirits and I feel lucky to have stayed with them!).
Adventure update: We took the PCT through Glacier Peak Wilderness instead of the detour- It was very do-able and well worth the extra effort. The trail was overgrown at points with sholder height brush, about 100 trees were blow down (some over 1,000 years old) and several creek/river crossings without 'bridges' made for some great campfire stories/ tall tales, but the only hairy moment (except for the lightning) was Milk Creek. I about took my last bath.... but am glad to say that I am stinky as can be -- the foul stench of adventure!
On to alpine lakes wilderness today, and am planning on camping at glacier lake tonight.
Very happy and healthy,
Bkat
-I plan on putting pics up soon (~it may take about a week or two) and will have a youtube site/ channel up soon with some of my videos.
