Pacific Crest Trail Map

Back in Missouri

Annie and I are at my parents' house in Columbia, Missouri. We've had a busy week since reaching Canada on Sept. 14.

We took a bus and then rented a car to get to Seattle, where we stayed a night. In Seattle we said goodbye to Buck 30, who was headed to the Arizona trail. Then we flew to Omaha. Annie was a bridesmaid in her brother's wedding. It was a terrific wedding and we had a lot of fun with Annie's family and friends.

We drove to Columbia yesterday. We're going to relax here this week and begin the painful process of finding jobs and somewhere to live. I've decided I'm not going to finish the AT this fall. I'll complete it another year. Annie is going to help her friend coach a high school swim team in Omaha. So we'll most likely be in Omaha this winter and then move back to Montana next spring.

It's been a week since we hiked but we're both still tired. With all the travelng and then partying at the wedding, we haven't had a lot of time to sit around and reflect. Now everyone is asking what we're doing next. It's tough to answer that question. We've been in the woods and didn't have much chance to research anything. Plus, I was so focused on finishing the trail I didn't put serious thought into the future. Right now I want to enjoy our accomplishment. But money is getting low and I need to do something.

Anyways, I hope to add some backdated entries to fill in some gaps. I'll also get some photos posted in the next couple weeks.
