Coming into Tuolumne Meadows

Tuolumne Meadows

Got up earlier than originally planned because we heard that we might be able to get our resupply package today because the store and post office are connected. Left camp by 7am and got to Tuolumne (two-all-um-me) Meadows by 10am. We were able to get our package and checked out the totally great store here! Tons of organic stuff!

Tried out a new beer, Yosemite Pale Ale. Snowshoe Brewing in Arnold I think. Pretty good beer with a fruity smell and got the box side as a souvenir. Waited until lunch was served at the Tuolumne Grill and Gino got a hamburger, Lion Heart a double cheeseburgers and we shared a french fries. Wrote some postcards and chatted with some other hikers. At some point moved onto king cobra beer based on the recommendation of Mover aka Tina. Later in the afternoon a snack was required of a double cheeseburger for Gino and a cheese burger for Lion Heart and more shared french fries.

We sat around the tables outside the grill from 10am until the sun set. We were planning on heading out and doing another 5-6 miles today but one thing led to another and we spent the afternoon chatting with other hikers (HWAP, Lauren, Pat) and eating food. Many stories shared and good times! Sometimes I feel the pressure of reaching Canada and moving down the trail but in the end the miles unhiked today won't really matter.

In the hiker part of the Tuolumne campground tonight. Hopefully will make some good miles tomorrow. Will meet Jay at Sonora Pass on the 17th. We'll see if we get any bears running around tonight.
