Crags from the trail

Crags in the Rear View

Started out from the SP with CanaDoug around 8am. Had some trouble finding the PCT. Eventually found it via Bob's Hat trail.

Water was good in the morning and early afternoon. We took frequent breaks at seasonal springs and creeks. We ran into some folks from way back: Emily and Bristlecone, previously known as Sir Ken. We hadn't seen them since the LA Aqueduct. They had hiked through the last sections just in time to beat the fires.

Got to last water around 5:30pm. Hiked on until about 7pm and dry camped on a windy ridge overlooking smoky mountains. Camped with Lauren tonight, still no sign of CanaDoug.

Days seem to fly by. They are getting noticeably shorter. We are excited about our jump ahead on the trail and our increased chances of beating the snow in Washington. Due to the fires, we skipped about 180 miles of trail. Soon we will be out of California and have less than 1000 miles to go! Woo hoo!!
