Jefferson Park
Light Goes Fast
A great start this morning. Up early and made 13 miles before lunch break. The weather has been warming up a bit, and the sun was out all day today. Gino dropped his foot into the creek getting water, and it was easy to dry the socks in the sun during the day hanging on his pack.Very beautiful scenery around Jefferson Park area. Tons of quaint little lakes, meadows, trails and camping spots. The kind of place you really don't want to leave! We wound our way up and out of Jefferson Park to a first great view of Mt. Hood, with Mt. Rainier and Mt. St Helens in the background. Yeah! Washington is in sight!
Met an interesting guy who is from a small island in Polynesia, but he was playing a joke on us and really is from California. His name is Snail and has a superman backpack!
Darkness comes early now. We plopped down at the lake here not too long after six. The sun was almost going down already!
