Route Planning!

I worked on route planning for 6 hours today, as well as Guideboook destruction. I'll be making about 20 resupply stops, sometimes getting mailed resupply packages and other times shopping in supermarkets.

My dad and Glenn Tanaka want to meet up and hike with me for a day. It'll probably work best to go from Arrastre Trail Camp (mile 255.9) to Big Bear City, which would be about a 20 mile hike. Hopefully they can handle that! Haha. It'll be nice to see familiar faces if they do decide to hike, and my mom can bring my laptop so I can upload some pictures when she picks them up in Big Bear.

The guidebooks I will be taking are:

The Pacific Crest Trail: Southern California
The Pacific Crest Trail: Northern California
Yogi's PCT Handbook
The Pacific Crest Trail Data Book
The Pacific Crest Trail: A Hiker's Companion

Since it would be way too bulky to bring all of those, I have unbound them and divided them up so I will be taking small sections of each book as necessary, and mailing the sections I need on the trail.

I'm not gonna lie...I am certainly nervous, mostly because I know that even through all this planning, there are a lot of unknowns/uncertainties, which makes it so tough to really plan things out perfectly. However, I've always been pretty good at improvising, so I should be okay!
