The Aquaduct

Who can say they have been rained on in the Mojave?!

Ican! After a too sound sleep at hiker town, I rolled out of bed at 6:30 to find I was the only hiker left! Some had left at 3:00 am to beat the heat and others after that. The MOJAVE section has been talked of as the Kryptonite to us super hikers--scorching heats as we walk next to the aquaduct for 16 shadeless, waterless miles. Eeks! And I sleep in?! BUT, the morning was relatively cool and breezy and in the afternoon--a thunderstorm and rain kept it nice and cool! And I discovered that the desert after rain has a wonderful earthy rich aroma. Like the massage oil at the Ayurveda resort Manaltheram (this is a reference for Juhi, if u r reading this!).

RealSelf

I'm not trying to find my "real self", just planning to lose some baggage on the trail. The Pacific Crest Trail, about 2,500 miles long, runs from Mexico to Canada along the West coast of the US. I will hike it until I don't feel like hiking anymore.
