We finally found the hike/bike camp last night but... The sprinklers came on at 1 am. We determined from that event that free is too expensive. Everyone was on a mission today - McDonalds and the Best Western at El Cajon Pass. That meant that everyone blew past me even after hitiing the trail an hour earlier than most.

It was another hot day and as usual the lower in elevation I got, the hotter it got. There were 2 major up hill sections - one in the morning and a nice and hot one in the afternoon. There were both interesting flowers plus unique canyon and ridge formations especially the last canyon down into the the freeway interchange.

Then there was the spectacle of 15 hikers pigging out at McDonalds followed by the trudge to the Best Western and a traffic dodging run to Subway.
