Lembert Dome

White water and granite slabs

It took a while to break loose from the store, PO, cafe, and people. The first part of the day went along the Toulemne River and there were some orgasmic granite slabs. You just want to rip off your clothes and run around. This was all backed up with the views of the Cathedral Range. Past Glen Aulen, the work began by climbing up through meadows and forest areas. Much of this area reminded me of the Grand Park area in Rainier National Park. Again I just wanted to run through the meadow naked - like some old Kevin Costner movie - I think. Then, a short descent to Return Creek and a nice cold wet ford to end the day.
