Post Knee Surgery

Months ago, I tore my miniscus sprinting across the street. I offered my pesky knee serious time to heal, but it was not happening fast enough. I was afraid to set off down the trail and have it fail, and cause me to quit hiking... after all that planning and dreaming. I had arthroscopic knee surgery two weeks ago, and now I am feeling great. The Doc says that everything in there is now "mechanically sound" and that everything should go well. Before the operation, I was always conscious of a nagging discomfort and pain, and I now realize what a miserable condition it was for an active person to try to live with. I have lazed around the house for the last couple of weeks, allowing everything to heal and smooth over. The plans for the hike have not changed, and I am approaching it with a renewed, more positive outlook. This weekend I plan to get in some XC skiing... to get out there and open up the lungs and get after it!
