Tolo Camp
Canadoug and I left together in the morning, but after a few hours I had gotten ahead of him. Crossed Gino and Lionheart again - who had camped up the trail further. Put in a long day and when arriving at Tolo Camp (a saddle high on a ridge) it was getting dark and I needed water. What a pain. The only water was from a spring about 500' down the ridge. After a 15 minute walk down there was not much left of the spring except for several muddy areas. I was able to capture water (at a VERY slow) rate running off of a root of a tree. This helped keep it cleaner - rather than scoop directly from the mud. It took a hile to get back up the ridge as well in the dark. Not the greatest way to arrive at camp after a nearly 30 mile day.I got a text message from Mission Control on this night. I think she must be missing me. She was watching the new James Bond and she sent me a text asking if I would shave my chest. I got a good chuckle out of this as I went to sleep. She claimed it "would be good for our relationship". I guess she thinks I am too hairy.
