Heavenly 3rd gate water cache at the end of the day!
Another pretty long day on the trail with Turtle, Plod and Rough Work. Sounds like a punk band doesn't it?
We had the longest stretch so far without H2O, 14 miles, so had to carry 4 liters which weighs more than 8 lbs, but the plus is the pack feels lighter and lighter as you drink it.
Health seems to holding up ok although my calves and quads cramped up a bit at a rest stop.
The cacti were in beautiful bloom today, especially the prickly pear and barrel cactus, lavender and yellow blossoms respectively. Had to pick a whole lot of spines out my ankle after misstepping into a churro(?) cactus.
I still love my umbrella. But couldn't use it quite as much as I would have liked due to high winds which are supposed to increase tonight with a slight chance of rain.
The biggest joy of my day was figuring out how to access my guest book and seeing so many messages from all of you. I am so lucky to have you all in my life!
I think I've smeared the last of the pesky gnats I let into my tent so probably time to sign off.
Love to all, Charlie/C3/PopPops
