Pacific Crest Trail Map

This guy needs medical insurance.

Yesterday, me and my father sent off in his truck heading for a weekend hiking trip in the White Mountains of NH. About 30 minutes from the trail I experienced what Im sure is my Lyme disease becoming symptomatic again. While hiking the Appalachian Trail I had gotten, or rather I had noticed symptoms of Lyme Disease just outside Port Clinton,PA. I was lucky enough to stumble upon a hiker named Bonesey who had started the trail on the same day as me and whom I hadn't seen since Damascus, VA who was carrying a full prescription of the antibiotic and handed it over without hesitation. After about 5 days stranded in the Port Clinton Hotel is as close as any one could get to resembling a Zombie I left finally and remained symptom free the rest of the trail, until yesterday.

Hiking over the weekend was kind of a big event for me. It would have been my first trip back to the woods since finishing the AT on September 13, 2009. A little disappointing it never happened, especially in the manor that it happened. I'm waiting to hear back from two possible employment opportunities which mean possible medical coverage and money to fund my trip. I'm really really hoping that one of these jobs comes through. Both would require me to move out west which has been something I've been wanting to do for a long time now. It could mean the difference between having an amazing winter or drudging through a job I hate, stuck in suburban mass. Unfortunately though my "Zombie" status is deciding to overwhelm me at this time. That's all for this entry.

Cloud's Western Adventure

God, how the wild calls to me.
There can be no other life for me but that of the lone wanderer.
It has an irresistible fascination.
The lone trail is the best for me.
