Bright Angel Trail
Indian Gardens
Rained most of the night and got up early, still raining, had a wet breakfast and headed for the river. A benefit to all the rain is the many new waterfalls that have sprouted out of the side canyons since yesterday. Some are very impressive, hanging high up on the canyon's cliffs. The weather improves some as I get close to Indian Gardens so get lunch eaten with some sunshine, gab with the ranger, and then walk out to Plateau Point. Sun even comes out for a longer spell then, and I relax on the rocks overlooking the river. Later take off for the rim in off and on rain, and work up through all the nicely appointed rest and water stops which are not much used or needed on a day like this one. Hit the South Rim about 5 and get a chance to watch the sun peek through clouds till it sets. By 6ish, I am on the shuttle to Flag. Will shuttle it to Phoenix in the am and (finally) fly home.
