First Night in Washington

Portland was amazing! Great to see old friends and fellow hikers. Thanks so much Grimace, BP, and Rosham for all your help. It was sad to leave, but Washington was beckoning us. Walked into Washington over the slight intimidating Bridge of the Gods. This was some of the most nerve racking hiking of the trip thus far. A steel bridge with a grate deck, through which you could see the Columbia River several hundred feet below. This was def not designed to accommodate pedestrians. After surviving the bridge crossing we start our hike into Washington. It is amazing we have made it this far. The end is in sight, which brings in a whole whirlwind of emotion. Still have a few weeks to worry about it.
