Camp At Glacier Lake

Into Stevens Pass

Took it slow in the morning to baby my foot. The piece of insole I cut and added to the ball of my right foot is helping. Met many campers on the trail. Great blueberries by lakes and huckleberries in the Powerline clearcuts--another distraction.

Rainbow Brite passed me--I hadn't seen her since Rd 23 going into Trout Lake weeks ago. We hitched to the Dinsmores together. A very restful night.

Two French guys were there--one from Chamonix and one a Quebecois. They were goofing off--they put on sequined dresses the Dinsmores had on the shelf in the hiker shelter and were prancing around--got some good pics of them at the Dinsmore's sign. I had met them at the McDonalds in Cajon Pass in May. Fun!!!

Had a great meal at the Baring store with the Dinsmore's--very good Fatboy sandwich. All homemade stuff and lots of it. Breakfast served all day. A true classic--built 100 years ago. Post office in store.

Very comfortable night at the DInsmore's Hiker Haven. The decision--leave tomorrow and get some miles in before the storm, or stay and be late to Stehekin where I had rented a room. My friend Kiltman was going to meet me there.
