Eric Bids Adieu
Chores and more chores
Kiltman's friend Eric who had driven Kiltman to Lake Chelan and accompanied him on the ferry to Stehekin took his leave to return to his home in Eugene. Many thanks to him for giving Kiltman a lift to meet me and complete the last section of the PCT with me!Many chores done, but thankfully everything was within a short distance--laundry and a small store where I bought 5 pairs of new socks and the Post Office where I mailed my bounce box home. The store at the Stehekin Lodge was good enough to re-supply from, in my non-picky opinion. They gave Kiltman a heavy duty garbage bag to use as a pack cover.
We checked out the North Cascades National Park Visitor Center and saw a talk on geology. More good food at the restaurant--medallions of beef on a salad. Protein--Yay!
The weather looked questionable, but after the reports of the last week, I couldn't trust anything I heard. It seems that this section of Washington doesn't have reliable weather forecasting. For Kiltman's sake I hoped we could have at least a few days of decent weather.
