Physical and psychological barrier

Man, I really seem to have this built in barrier of 500 miles. I have been cold for the last 2 days and this morning was foggy, cold, windy, and wet. I just could not get going plus I am somewhat concerned about going 2 more days with no cover and relief from the wind and cold.

About 9 am, a car pulls up right in front of my tent and someone gets out and says "Thank you and good bye". I poke my head out of my tent, catch the attention of the driver, and crawl out of my tent. The driver is Lloyd, the trail angel from Bend. I ask for a ride and quickly pack things up.

Lloyd drives me to a motel; shows me around the area; and offers me a ride to the bus station the next day.

Obviously, I have cried uncle and am on my way home.

At least, I got my 500 miles in to validate this year's through hiker permit.

Thank you to everyone that helped and encouraged me this year.

I will get my picture up as soon as possible.
