campsite before the storm

WHAT NEXT?

We got a late start yesterday from echo lake. Did 12 miles and the weather started rolling in. Storm hit about 6 pm. Woke up to snow covered tents. At 8200 feet delaying today's start I should have known better and bought a 4 season tent and brought the backcountry skis. It's 9 am and we have about 3 to 4 inches accumulating and it is still coming down. sent from the tent

**********

Later entry: On the 29th, we were stalled in our tents. We were at 8,200 feet and It was snowing. But the sky seemed to be clearing. By 10:30 we were on our way. We made quick time up to the pass and had a fun glissade down the backside. See pic 6, small avalanches on the right - yikes!

On we went to mile 1117.5. It was hard finding a suitable camping spot as most of the terrain was either snow covered or what little dirt we could find was like a bog with melt water. But we eventually lucked out.
