Hikers at the breakfast buffet

Slacking downhill

Today, we are moving down the hill to Government Camp. The rates here go up and we had our original reso down there at the Huckleberry Inn. I am anxious to hit the trail again but it is more important to me to hang with Barb.

I am leaving some stuff here and will reload my pack tomorrow as I resume my hike. We will downhike the hill today from Timberline Lodge to the highway (10 miles) then hitch this afternoon to Govt. Camp.

Barb has done extremely well on this hike 19, 25, 27, 23, and now, today 10 miles. She is heading home tomorrow and I will be back on the trail (hitch up to Timberline, get my things and move north).

There is a big fire raging on the Northeast side of Mt. Hood. Winds today are supposed to be East to West. This is not good news for the PCT. I am hoping to get past it tomorrow.

The breakfast buffet here at the lodge is most wonderful. Stop in.
