Post Hike Statistics
Statistics
Journal Readers: This is somewhat difficult to estimate. Un-scientifically extrapolating guestbook entries, movie views and journal stats, we guess that about 1400 individuals may have logged into the site at least once during it's entire run and about 500 readers followed us from start to finish. Note: The "hit counter" does not give a valid estimate of viewership as every time a person flips to a new page, the counter increases by one. A better statistic to look at is the "Entry Visits". That tells how many times that particular page was accessed. The most popular page was our Sierra Snow Conditions report, with over 1400 views. For you journal readers out there, a sincere "thank you", we appreciate your interest in our adventure.
Hike Stats:
Our hike started on April 17, 2011. We slackpacked section A from the Mexican border to Warner Springs, the first 110 miles. After attending the kickoff on April 29th, we resumed our hike from Warner on April 30th, with full packs. Barb went continuously from Campo to Mammoth (mile 903) then later in the summer, picked up an additional 169 miles in Northern California and Oregon (her total, 1066 miles). Jack flipped the section from Mammoth to Old Station, hiked from Old Station to the Oregon border then returned to Mammoth to check off the flipped section. He then jumped back up to Oregon and continued thru from the Oregon border to Canada. Here are some statistics from our trip.
