Yakima Pass Mud Hole

North 350 Blades trail work

Since Dona and I have been home we have been working with the North350Blades doing trail work here in Washington.

The Blades were formed a year ago and their mission is to help maintain the north 350 miles of the PCT. Basically that is from White Pass to the border.

We have been doing brushing south of Snoqualmie Pass using power tools and we also transformed a 35' long mud hole in the trail to a rock turnpike. This work was in the Yakima pass area.

The Blades have a Facebook page and an email address. We email 'members' information about workparties. Email :

Following is a list of folks we hiked with/met in CA that we have seen either during a work party or when we have 'checked in' at Snoqualmie Pass:

Rhino, Dirtmonger, Hotshot, Scroomer, Flash, Crasher, Rattler, Marmot and Roo, Halfstep, Ramblin Rose, Softwalker, Yardsale and Free Range Amelia

Its been a lot of fun seeing these hikers and we congratulate them on what they have accomplished, particularily concidering how miserable the weather has been (Rhino and Dirtmonger missed it by being soo early).

Last weekend Dona and I picked up Flash, Crasher and Rattler at Manning Park and then hosted them here in Seattle. It was a great time.

Rattler is significant to us as he was delivered to the start of the trail together with us by Girlscout last April 24.
