Getting ready

So looks like this works. Beautiful. Heading to St. Louis to see my sister and her husband, will be back on the 14th then head on the trail on the 19th!! Sooo close now, unbelievable.

A little bit about me... I am a 29 year old male looking to make the best out of life. Life is too short, I can't say that enough. I always hear how people wish they would have done this or would have done that...well I'm gonna go do those things before it is too late or something happens in life that might limit my ability to do what I want to do. I am doing the Pacific Crest Trail because it is a FASCINATING trail and I know it will be a life changing experience. I didn't even know about the trail till a couple years ago living in Washington where fitness and hiking were a passion in my life. My cousin's husband told me about the trail and how he wanted to do it. So I looked the PCT up one day and fell in love. Over a year later here I am. A little over a week away on attempting something that roughly 60% of people complete. It looks like this year will be a good one for sure with all the snow the mountains have had recently. But I am so ready for a challenge. Bring it on!!!

I hope to meet a lot of people and make friends and gain connections to possible outdoor jobs and experience what life has to offer. I want to be able to find a job that I love to do and say "Wow... I'm getting paid to do this!" Completing the PCT will be a good thing on a resume =) I am confindent on completing it but know the possibilities that things could go wrong on the trail...

To all my family and friends this is not only for me, but for all of you as well. This amazing journey is made possible by the love and support all of you have given me and I will use that strength to push on if things got ugly (ex. injury, possible days on end w/out seeing someone, etc.) So cheers! =) Oh, and thanks mom for telling me to watch "127 Hours" I did want to see it just never got around to doing it. That movie makes me want to live at all costs and that giving up is not an option. Go big or go home. I'm so pumped up!!

Can't wait to meet all you hikers!! Looking to have the best time of my life with some cool people!

P.S. Rhino is a trail name I picked for myself but if I get an actual trail name while on the trail that I like I will probably switch to that, for now, sticking to Rhino.
