Journal Entry

I have been enjoying hanging with the family here in Alabama and today is my cousins wedding that has been planned for so long. Last saturday I drove with my mom and grandma 32 hours straight to get here. I told my mom and grandma to use short term goals just like on the trail lol. I said "Don't think about how long it's gonna take because we know it's gonna be freaking long, just focus and get excited about going thru the next major town." That actually helped a lot and didn't make the ride seem like an eternity.

My aunt and cousins live on a 42 mile lake and it's just the coolest house. They have a pontoon (sp?) boat and we went wake boarding and checked out where the wedding is gonna be. Last Monday when I went wake boarding, I completely ate sh** doing a jump and landed wrong and face planted basically and completely shot out the board. It hurt. 6 days later my heels somehow hurt and I'm now just starting to walk normal. I bruised my ribs and that still really hurts. My neck is not stiff anymore and I don't feel concussed! Haha. Ok well on Thursday I decided to try again since everyone was giving it a go and reaggravated them just a little. I'm not a good wake boarder and here on this lake is where I first learned about 3 years ago or so. I freaking love it though!

Still haven't heard from REI unfortunately, and if I don't, I'm just gonna have to bug them till they hire me : ) In the mean time, when I'm back in WA, I will get some volunteering in wherever I can. It's gonna be so nice when things get more settled for me. I have been waiting for that for a long time. Things will all work out. They always do.

Wedding today, leave on Monday to Florida to visit more family, then Oct 1st I think, we drive back to Cali. Then after a day or so I drive up to Washington. About 3000/8000+ miles driven so far.
