Lone Pine 00

Aaah. My double zero in Lone Pine. Great town! The hostel is pretty nice, 2 German girls were in the ladies dorm with me yesterday, nobody yet today. I played cards with the guys last night and while we (sorta) watched a dumb shark movie with LL Cool J then the Matrix. I would have liked to hit the trail with them (Charlie, Miscreant, Fish, a few more...) but just wasn't feelin it. Ya gotta feel it. I've been chowing vitamins, fresh fruit, salads, and a nice Subway sandwich. Ithink my bod was getting grumpy with Clif bars, cookies, and dehydrated whatever.

Good to read snow reports from Wing-it and Don't Panic on the PCT-L and the Hungry Honeymooners. Pyrite and chinchilla. I switched to my boots and sent my shoes (750 mi and still kicking!) to Independence just in case the boots suck. Bought overkill tall snow gaiters at the super awesome outfitter in town, Elevation.

I'm behind most hikers I know now, I bet. Well, carrying a "light" load from Kennedy Meadows, 28 pounds, was good. Gonna be heavier coming out of here. Got 2x the food, just barely fits in the bear canister. Ok Mt Whitney, I'm coming!
Should reach Independence Mon the 20th.
