Drying and packaging meals

Food Preparation

Where possible we plan to purchase supplies at food stores in trail towns along the way. For resupply locations that do not have food stores, we have used our dehydrator and vacuum sealer to prepare meals. Being vegetarian we have found the book, Lipsmackin' Vegetarian Backpackin' by Christine and Tim Conners very helpful. Following the KISS principle (Keep It Simple Sweetie) Christine and Tim's one-pot recipes should work well on the trail.
Enroute from our home to Campo we will stop over in Oregon to visit our friends Steve and Vie. They have graciously volunteered to be our trail managers. At their place the four of us will prepare boxes of supplies which they will mail to resupply points along the way.
