Fast-Packing the PCT

This journal will primarily focus on fast-hiking the PCT. When I was looking at realistic options of hiking the PCT the only option that seemed feasible was to hike it in approximately 100 days. As I read through trail journals I found few people have hiked the Trail at this pace and even fewer have documented their trip. This makes it difficult for future potential fast-packers to witness the preparation and journey of past fast-packers.

My intent is to focus this journal primarily on the fast-packing aspect of the trip vs. a more general trail journal. The pre-hike section will focus on training and other topics such as nutrition that I believe are critical to accomplishing the task. There will be some gear entries but those will focus on gear that allows a sub 10lb base weight which will be helpful for anyone looking to do high daily mileage.

At the conclusion of the trip I will come back and document what assumptions were true and false and provide post hike perspective on what I would do if I were fast-pack the PCT again.
