High Desert

Day 23 - Walker Pass

Today brought me back into the high desert with very easy trail all day. At 11am I ran into the PCT famous Warner Springs Monty and found out that they were cooking up food at Walker Pass. That provided ample motivation to do my first 35 mile day since my leg started acting up. The nice thing was that my leg felt great and all blister related problems were completely gone. I was able to really move down the trail. I reach the festivities at about 7 and there were about a dozen hikers eating copious amounts of food. I had three sandwiches, a steak, ice cream sandwich, enormous piece of red velvet cake and beer. It was wonderful. I'm camped at the Walker Pass Campground. I hope the snoring isn't too bad.

I have 52 miles until Kennedy Meadows and the start of the high Sierra. To say I'm excited is an understatement.
