PCT overview map

PCT Map and FACTS

· The map on the right provides a big picture overview of the PCT.

· The dialog box on the left appears on every page and there is a link to a PCT map at the bottom. Clicking on this will produce a map which will show specific information about my progress and will be marked with the letter "J" showing my location for a given date.

· Also, at the bottom of this map is an icon (for lack of better term) which says "Show Mileage". Once you have clicked on that, whenever you "cursor over" anywhere along the trail, the mileage and elevation will display.

The PACIFIC CREST TRAIL Length: 2,650 miles

Route: Mexico to Canada, traversing California, Oregon and Washington

Terrain: 60 mountain passes, 19 major canyons, more than 1,000 lakes and mountain pools

Through-hikers: Each year, about 300 hikers attempt to hike the entire length. About 180, or 60 percent, succeed.
