My wife Jenn has courageously encouraged me to hike the Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico to Canada this summer. I remain stunned that she's sending me out for more than four months while we have three young boys at home, but consider myself incredible lucky to have the opportunity and hope to make the most of it.

I plan to leave on Thursday May 10, 2012.

I'm setting up this journal to follow my adventures and to share the trip with family and friends.

The Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) is a 2,650-mile national scenic trail that runs from Mexico to Canada through California, Oregon and Washington.
