PCT Is a Go

I realize that it has been a while since my last journal update. I have had a hectic couple of weeks, what with my last week at work and then the stress of moving back up to Durham. I had a couple of job interviews that have, thus far, produced no results, so I am moving forward with the PCT. I am kicking around the idea of moving my start date forward. Before I had anticipated a May 1st start date, but am now thinking about going as early as the second week of April. I want to be done with the trail in time to go back to school, should that plan make sense, which means getting back before late August. If that means a bit of extra snow, so be it. I am fortunate enough to have my parents willing to pick me up in the Sierras if things get too hairy. That way I can take a week or two off and then get back out there once the snow recedes. Given the mild winter, I don't anticipate that being a problem.

The only issue I now foresee is that my timeline has been drastically changed, and I have much less time than I thought to get in shape and to prep my meals. I am writing this from a Starbucks, where I am doing a lot of that planning now. I have two itineraries and have a pretty good sense of my resupply startegy, so that just leaves the preparation. I think I will head on over to Costco from here so that I can get some food for the dehydrator. I have a feeling it will be getting a workout from here on out!
