Pacific Crest Trail Map

Four Passes

We left our camp and started a long day of climbing. The first milestone
was Rainy Pass at Hwy 20 (Elev 4,850') then it really started to climb up
Cutthroat Pass (Elev 6,800') there was a short drop to Granite Pass (Elev
6,300') and then a final climb up to Methow Pass (Elev 6,600'). Water in
this section maybe hard to find so we selected a campsite above a small
stream, it had been a warm day but it quickly cooled off as soon as the sun
was behind the mountains. The mountain views once we were above the tree
line were fantastic, the mountains still have large glaciers or snow packs.
It is too bad the air is shrouded with smoke from the fires.
