Training & Preparation
Gear list is up, but I have to buy a scale so I can weigh everything and see if I've made my target base pack weight, if not I'll have to figure out where to trim. My plan is done as well. I'm sending myself 15 boxes from home as I don't want to use my zero or nero days running around town shopping on tired feet. However, there are places I will resupply in town and may need to supplement what I have so I don't have to carry more than 5-6 days of food where possible.
Training plan, rather than put in every training day, in a nutshell, here is the plan. I will do cardio or walking 3 times a week with a backpack. I will build mileage and packweight as I go. Twice a week I'll do strength training and core exercises as well as backpacking specific exercises. On the weekend I'll go snowshoeing with my pack in the mountains for snow experience and altitude training.
The big pay day is the 15th! I'll finally be able to purchase the rest of my gear, a food dehydrator, and food. I need to start filling those boxes! It's all coming together. woohoo!
