Pacific Crest Trail Map
I got a couple new toys for my journey. The new Aw100 NIkon 16mp high definition Camera with built in GPS. It's freakin cool. I cant wait to take some nice panorama's and cool videos with this thing. Another handy featue is it's shock and waterproof down to 33ft so maybe ill swim down to the bottom of crater lake and take a few shots of what I see. I also got a new Mp3 player and portable speaker. What's hiking without some good beats to listen to. The portable speaker cranks some nice sound but Im afraid it might be to heavy to take along since I cant even lift my backpack off the ground already.
I'm tring to get as much ready in these next few weeks with resupplying and my plans before everything hits the fan. Earlier in my planning I thaught I was well prepared for this and as I come closer to my departure Im discovering how much torture is in store for me when this all goes down. I hope these thaughts are just feelings and not a foreboding of all out destruction. In these next 9 days I have some major obstacles to overcome. I fihave to finish getting all the crap out of my apartment, such as my closet full of cloth, kitchen junk, lamps, art materials and assorted junk still left that I havnt sold. Im thinking of hustling the rest of my cloth and electronics out on the curb outside the subway station down the street from my place in Downtown La. The rest of the stuff is getting donated to goodwill and friends that want to take my junk. If anyones looking for some old cloth and apartmemt furnishings please take them off my hands email me firstname.lastname@example.org.
Pack weight, Pack Weight, Pack Weight!!!!!!!!!! I'm in for a surprise!!!!!! Im trying to reduce my backpack weight and all I can come up with, is ditching my entire pack and replacing it with a grocery store bag loaded with reeces and a tarp. I have way to much stuff I know I probably will not need. Examples, fishing rod and tackle, Portable speaker, 12 inch Blade, electronics, 30 ounces of fuel for my stove, medical kit you could use in the ER, enough shirts and cloth to have a fashion show, and gadgets galore and much much more. Hey if it to heavy I can burn it, or mail it back, right?
However, I have devised a fail safe strategy for training now. A forty here and there, casual walk here and there, a pull up, a push up and squat and then rest for a few days, So far I have been seeing major gains! Bigger pant size, a strong appetite, a thick belly padding and a healthy tolerance to controled substances. Pretty confident this is going to work out pretty grand. Wish Me luck, Later
