Hikertown Hitch out

The whole day before I decided I would hitch out I was just chillin. Taking my time and waiting to hear word from Kevin as were were still apart and I was hiking solo. Finally he contacted me and informed me he was getting a ride to Kennedy Meadows and I should start Hitchin. I did just that, only after my phone charged.

Highway 138 goes right in front of Hikertown and I began hiking East on it. Well, it sucked because noone was picking me up. No one. There were so many Trucks with empty beds that would be just right for my butt. Yet no one stop untill about 3 hours into the long hot hitch on a desert highway. Nice lady said she was going to the store I had been going to for the last day for food at Hikertown. I told her I was going to Lancaster and the 14 and she said she would take me the extra 13 miles to there. Man have I found some great people in California or what? She dropped me off there and I looked at one sketchy hitchhike. A crowded interstate.

At first I was afraid to actually jump on the interstate on the side. This thing is more crowded than I-10, so it was bad. I tried hitching at the two differnt off ramps and had no luck. Finnally I said Fuck it Im going for it, and I jumped on the interstate witch high hopes, but very low speed. I made it about 3 miles down the dangerous 14 and finally a white Jeep Wrangler pulled over. Oboard was a old tennis player who had just finished a match, which would have got him into Nationals, but unfortunatly his team had come in 2nd place by one set. Again, this guy was going to somewhere closer than where he took me. About 15 miles further than where his destination was to Mojave. From there we split ways and I had a choice to stay in a motel or gamble getting a ride further, Well i chose to hike on down with my finger out. There was no luck in that. I hiked on the road side from 6-9 pm and finnaly I gave up when it became dark as hell. I Set up my cowboy camp on the side of Highway 14 and some other service road.
