The first day mash

Joker, Cro, and I hit the ground running. Having arrived at the border with about 40 people, we wanted to GTFO! (get the fuck out) Thanks to the Mann's for getting us there. We left the border at 7 am and arrived at Lake Morena around 2 pm. The first day is fueled by pure adrenaline.

The kick- off was busy; I'd never seen so many people. So, we planned to leave after dinner. But not before catching up with our good friend Tangent, who we hiked a lot with in 2010! And it was great to finally meet his wife Alice who we'd heard so much about out of lonely-thru-hiker-dude-syndrome.

After a mediocre kick-off dinner of bean burritos and learning that the sewage system failed, we GTFO! One mile later we found ourselves at peace and in position to get ahead of the kick- off herd.
