Too much snow

I went home after reaching Stevens Pass because the weather made it too dangerous to continue. To my knowledge no one was able to complete the next section to Stehekin in 2013 after I came off the trail. I heard a lot of people tried but had to turn back. I only live a couple of hours from Stevens Pass and Solstice was nice enough to send me some details on the weather and trail attempts while she was at the Dinsmores. I guess there was some talk of taking a bus around the next section and see if they could rejoin the trail to the terminus in Canada. This is not an option for me as I decided at the beginning not to take detours unless the trail is closed from fire, earthquake, meteor shower etc. I should have gotten here before the weather got too cold, that's my failure, I thought if I reached Canada by the end of the first week in October I would be okay. Obviously not. I came up 193 miles short of Manning Park, B.C. - to that I say DANG IT ALL! Sorry for the strong language gentle readers. My intention is to restart at Campo, CA PCT mile 0 in April 2014 should the snow load in the high sierras be conducive to another attempt. If I can complete the thru hike in 2014 I can come back in 2015 and pick up the last 193 miles for a double. I had a great time and really enjoyed hiking with Brother-In-Law Tony & Daughter Sarah "Fortune Cookie" and by myself! I contacted Jess "Night Crawler" and her Mom & Dad (Kelly & Bob) to join us for our annual Polar Bear Dip on 1 January 2014. They came over to the Olympic Peninsula and joined us for the dip (Millie & Kelly did not jump in!) and then later at my house for tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches! How neat is that?
