Hawk Eye and I at Castlewood Canyon

This is a Continuation of My 2012 PCT Interrupted Hike.

The short version of my 2012 story is: I hiked from the Mexican border to just north of Aqua Dolce. A distance of 465.6 trail miles in a little under a month. I was rescued by Terrie Anderson, a trail angel, and taken to her home Casa de Luna. The pain I was suffering was a stress fracture of the right tibia (broken leg). That ended my 2012 PCT effort. You can check out my journal from 2012 on Postholer.com by following this link: MY 2012 Journal.

Now 2013 hiking season is close at hand and I am starting to get excited again. Most of the planning is the same and already in place from last year. I still have to check maps for route changes and trail closures. Get an updated water report the day before I leave. Replace just a few items, for what I had carried last year seemed to be working. Buy a one way plane ticket. Start dreaming of stars for a roof again.

Hawk Eye in the picture is one of the people I hiked with last year.
