Some people have asked about sending sending resupply boxes along the way.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as it will help the trip budget and
also the stores in these small Towns don't have a great selection at
If you would want to help me in this way send an email to
matthew.a.Thatcher@gmail.com and I will send you mailing instructions. I
can be several days between places where I have access to email, so it may
take a while to respond.
Here is a description of an average 3 day supply. I will list name brands
for clarity, but if a store brand is available thats fine.
A box if fiber one bars, chocolate
A box of oatmeal bars (avoid raisins)
A box of high protein bars
A box of individual oatmeal packets
6 tortilla shells
3 foil packages of meat or small jar of peanut butter(tuna, salmon,
chicken, spam or whatever)
Mayo and mustard packets
3 Instant sides like rice coucous pasta
a drink mix like mio, orange flavored or crystal light packets
3 Snickers bars
A box of chocolate carnation instant breakfast mixes(individual packets
If you have any other light weight easy to prepare ideas then please
substitute; the variety would be great. If you bake a batch of something
thats great too. I may not be able to carry it all out, but I will share
it with the other hikers.
Again, thank you for any help!
