Saied Valley - Done at last

The purist in me dictates that I do the last 3.5 miles, even though it's a road walk. Deb thinks I'm silly, but drives me out the horribly windey 35 miles (out and 35 miles back) of hwy 96 during our return trip from my high school reunion.

She dropped me off along the Klamath River at 4:50, right where Megan's Dad picked me up on July 14th. No clouds and the temperature was perfect for walking.

I saw deer, crows, a hawk, goats and cows. Trees were in the process of changing colors in a few places and there were even some sweet pea blossoming. Just about everybody that passed me in their cars smiled and waved. It felt great to have finally finished my mixed-up hike from Mexico to Canada.

Special thanks to Deb and Dad and all the trail angels along the way for their support during this fantastic adventure. Thanks also to everyone else who enabled or encouraged or otherwise sent good thoughts my way. You are all wonderful and very much appreciated.

Fin
