Taste Of Paradise

Dr. Sole magic
Paradise burger and beer
Weather is changing

Slow start today due to late arrival last night. Made quick miles though and the morning slipped by. Made it to hwy 74 just before 1 pm having covering 15 miles.

The incentive? Paradise Cafe! The owner of the cafe came and picked a group of us up and took us the short one mile down the road. I had a huge burger with bacon and cheese. Get this, they had 3 beers on tap and one was the Firestone ipa. What luck! Two of those went nicely with my burger. We refiled our water bottles and then caught a lift back to the trail. It felt so good to finally make it to paradise cafe!

Back at the trail head was trail angel extraordinaire Dr. Sole. He had drinks for people, shade and chairs for hikers to sit in. But Dr. Sole's real claim to fame is that he works on hikers feet. Yes, you heard me right. It's a brave soul the doesn't flinch when a hiker puts their blistered and torn feet in their lap. Dr. Sole's son hiked the PCT before and no one was helping hikers with their feet. So, Dr. Sole is a self trained foot doctor patching one hikers foot after another. He's simply amazing!

Around 5 pm I left the comfort of the chairs and headed on to hike another 5 miles. Here by myself tonight and it's windy. The weather is changing, storm blowing in.
