Fuller ridge

Descent

Down, down and more down
Afternoon clouds and sprinkles
Ice cream for dinner

What a fucking day. In a good way of course. Smile. Cold night. Feet were cold all night and that's such a bummer. Makes it hard to sleep. Temps were just under 40. Was on trail by 615 headed for Fuller Ridge over 9000 ft.

Wow, saw Fuller Ridge for the first time. In 2009 it was covered with snow and we just followed the tracks on the east side. Turns out the actual pct traverses both sides of the ridge.

The desert floor loomed below. The afternoon descent lay before me. I braked for lunch at 1130 and dealt with some blisters. I removed my pant legs to head into the warmth and was trucking down the mountain by 1230. After exfoliating my legs on the god damn brush for an hour and a half I finally put my pant legs back on. As I flew down the mountain, the sky clouded up and I was blessed with a mostly shaded descent. What a gift! At one point I even heard thunder and wondered if the sky was going to open up and dump.

I finished the at least 7000 ft. descent just before 5 pm and then joined Sensai for another 6 miles to trail angels ziggy and the bear. My calves were cramping up but I made it. 28 miles. What a gift to be here tonight at this wonderful home and with all the hikers. They welcomed us with warm foot bathes and then served ice cream. Love!
