I crossed a desert
of black and gold
until mountains appeared on the horizon
blue
against the copper-colored sky
Behold!
this shimmering sky
is but the foot of another mountain -
one far greater than I thought possible -
words fall short of describing it,
and my brush falls away

The moment has arrived! I'm officially done with the Southern California section, 702 miles. What a glorious time! And the Sierra mountains are ahead. No cell service for the next week so new updates will come in about a week when I come out of the mountains and into Bishop.
