VVR Feast

You know, I haven't seen G Dub in quite a while. He just disappeared into the ethers of the trail. G Dub was one mishap after another. And what I think has happened is that our fortunes have somehow transferred. I imagine that he has been enjoying my usual good fortune these past few weeks as I have mishap after mishap.

I was up early headed to Vermillion Valley Resort, where your first beer is free. VVR is on the west end of lake Edison so I was going catch a ferry. As I approached the ferry zone a hiker coming towards me said I missed the ferry. But how could that be? I was there at 915 am for the 945 am ferry. Because the lake is so low, I had to walk a ways to get to the waters edge but sure enough none of my pct buds were there meaning they'd already left on the ferry. I thought about crying but threw my trekking poles on the ground instead. As luck would have it, I had cell service and I called VVR to see what was up. Turns out they were going to make one more trip. Thank goodness because I really didn't want to walk the 5 extra miles in around the lake. The lake is so low they can't use their usual pontoon boat and the water doesn't come anywhere near the resort. So, they drive the rest of the way in across dry lake bed.

Sadly, I missed breakfast but had a beer and shower instead. Ruination IPA. Double hamburger lunch, more beer, peach and berry pie with ice cream, lamb chop dinner, beer, more pie and ice cream, sleep.
