Reds Zero

So, Cherub has confirmed that my pillow is indeed number 8. That leaves only one more equipment failure.

Hiked into Reds Meadow with Snickers knee deep in beer talk. His quick pace and my near running got us there in good time. Just in time for beer and breakfast. Cherub and Soup Nazi showed up bit later and the double cheeseburger lunch soon followed.

Food comatose set in and it took a while to get going again. Bought a few snacks at the store as well as a new hat. We decided that we were only going a few more miles so decided to haul out some beers. I hauled out 2 lobotomy Bocks, 4 Sierra Nevada torpedo IPAs, and 1 pbr.

Not far after Devils Postpile National Monument, we rejoined the Pct and soon made camp. I put the beers in a spare paint strainer bag and dropped them into the nearby steam to keep cool. Luckily, I was able to pawn off a couple onto the others. The afternoon and evening was filled with conversation and joking. When the mosquitos got too bad we retreated to our tents. I'm camped close to Snickers and we've been chatting for awhile. A warm day and evening here. It's after 10 pm and I'm still not in my sleeping bag.

The on-trail zero is a bit of a joke. Today was our zero day but we still did 8 miles.
